Vintage Motorcycles

The Maine State Police were formed from the Maine Highway Patrol in 1925. From 1921 until 1935, the Maine State Police patrolled on motorcycles (and occasionally horses). The earliest troopers rode Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles to patrol various areas of Maine. In 1935, patrol cruisers were added to the Maine State Police fleet. Maine State Police motorcyle patrols ended in 1954.
